Break-Thru

Break-Thru is a mirrored installation site in the heart of Autodesk's Boston office space. The installation surrounds two columns with a series of undulating box forms that serpentine their way up into a hung ceiling structure. This structure supports lighting and 'traveling' box forms as they appear to fly from one column to the other. This space features six conference pods where important meetings occur and innovative ideas are shared. Break-Thru was designed to embrace that activity by presenting a composition that relays the idea of singular thoughts seeking and finding desired structure. The central box forms have mirrored backs and platforms for the Autodesk Team to display new work. The mirrors create an unexpected illusion where it appears that one can peer directly through the column given the homogeneous architecture that surrounds the site.
